1GC series is created with two different materials, ceramics and glass.
By using slip casting technique for the ceramics and pulling canes in hot glass, there is a play in expectations. The ceramics became thin and light, while the glass is solid and heavy.
The play of sharp reflections and soft shadows on the surfaces creates an extra contrast.
These differences are the characteristics which make the two materials work harmoniously together.
The way the glass curls and flows around the ceramics creates a fluent and almost living impression, whereas the ceramics function as a base, a home of the flow.

De 1GC-serie is gemaakt van twee verschillende materialen: keramiek en glas.
Door gebruik te maken van de slipcastingtechniek voor het keramiek en het trekken van draden in heet glas, wordt er gespeeld met de verwachtingen. Het keramiek is dun en licht geworden, terwijl het glas stevig en zwaar is.
Het spel van scherpe reflecties en zachte schaduwen op de oppervlaktes zorgt voor een extra contrast.
Deze verschillen zijn de kenmerken die ervoor zorgen dat de twee materialen harmonieus samenwerken.
De manier waarop het glas zich rond het keramiek krult en vloeit, creëert een organische en bijna levendige indruk, terwijl het keramiek fungeert als een basis, een thuis voor de vloeiende vormen.
